So let your light shine...

You are the light of the world.
A city on a hill cannot be hidden.
Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl.
Instead they put in on its stand,
and it gives light to everyone in the house.
In the same way, let your light shine before men,
that they may see your good deeds
and praise your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:14-16

God’s Word -Matthew 5:15
 “Let your light shine...”
From the desk of Sculptor - Bridgette Mongeon

My twinkling friend,
I am often surprised that people will notice a spark about me. I have had a personal relationship with my Lord for a very long time. I cannot imagine trying to live life without Him.  I thank God for shining through my life.

It can be difficult to let your light shine.  Sometimes amidst the great
darkness in this world, you wonder, “This feels hopeless, does my little glimmer of God make a difference?”  God’s Word says that it does make a difference, and that He will help you shine.

Our God is an awesome God.  When we truly begin to trust him for our needs, and watch him work in our lives, we can’t help but get excited.  Our actions, our smiles, our exhibit of faith pass on our exuberance to others. They will see you handle things in your life with the peace of God and a supernatural assurance. As they see you shine they will wonder, they may even ask!

We all know that we should let our lights shine.  We may even try.  But have you ever been in a room at night when all of the lights go out?  Do you ever just light one candle?  How much brighter the light is when there are two, or three, or four!  If you are having a hard time twinkling, try having fellowship more with those who are.  There is encouragement in fellowship that will help you glow.

Let us shine together as we learn God’s Word and exhibit it in our lives.

Dear Lord,
Sometimes I don’t feel like a flame for You, sometimes it is hard to even feel like a spark.  Set my heart and life on fire, that You may shine through it.  Give me Your peace, understanding, and patience that others will see You when they look at me.  And Dear Lord, when they recognize it let me remind them, as I remind myself, that without You I would still be in the dark.
    In Jesus’ name I pray,
    Amen
